MEALSFORALL!

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Collective Fare has transformed The BCCC kitchens into a mass-production facility for prepared meals. Using donations from organizations including NYPD North Brooklyn Patrol, Teens for Food Justice, City Harvest and others, Collective Fare and The BCCC have prepared over 6,000 meals for local family shelters, elder-care facilities, dialysis centers and essential workers, all in a neighborhood that was already struggling with food insecurity and diet-related illness of epidemic proportions.

Beginning on April 7, we expanded our efforts to support NYC’s essential workers, the frontline heroes risking their lives to keep the city safe during the crisis. Collective Fare donates 700 healthy, delicious prepared meals daily to nurses, health-care workers, first responders, police officers, firefighters and food industry workers at drop-off locations throughout New York City. These tireless individuals have been exposing themselves to the virus to keep New Yorkers safe, sacrificing the health of themselves and their families in the process. The BCCC is working to ensure these first responders have access to free, healthy, hearty meals, prepared in their DOH-certified facility, strictly adhering to all health and sanitation protocols, closely following the CDC guidelines. By providing these meals to those in need, frontline workers will be able to limit further exposure, spending more time and resources with their families.

Collective Fare’s entire staff is composed of BCCC alumni who have been laid off as the result of the quarantine measures impacting the hospitality industry. With your support, The BCCC can keep these skilled workers employed doing what they love, while supporting New York’s most vulnerable in the process.
